Not as elegant as yours. you haven't seen my roof - it's the shed roof over a covered porch. We have problems due to old age and weather. Not too bad, just fussy. mine had a fixation on puttin gfaucet washers in all the electric outlets on the screws to space them out from the wall? yeah to space out from wall he put in paneling everywhere and it required washers on the outlets my guy liked caulk - for everything, everywhere. Guess roofing cement is sort of like caulking ;-) roofing cement is a poor man's caulk SLATE The shed roof over my covered porch is slate (like the main roof), but the DPO coated it with roofing cement. It's in rough shape, and really needs to be replaced. Don't shoot me, i'm planning asphalt shingles Anyway, I'm trying to salvage as much of the slate as I can, but it's pretty fragile. Any suggestions on how to remove them without damaging them? I'm keeping the slate on the main roof - this small roof is on the back side of the house, and really isn't salvagable, and slate cost is prohibitive About half the roof is coated with roof cement, so I am starting with those slate. If I rebuild inside and caulk outside, will it hold till spring? tin metal. Inside sill is gone, I'm replacing it. Outside will get new wood sill--next spring. Thanks, that's what I'm planning on.
